Does California require landlords to accept reusable tenant screening reports?
The idea is simple. Instead of paying for a new screening report every time you apply for an apartment, you get one report and make it available to multiple landlords.
California has a law specifically allowing these reports. But there’s an important catch:
California landlords don’t have to accept them.
That’s different from states such as Colorado, where qualifying portable reports generally have to be accepted subject to certain exceptions.
